A very nice, large restaurant with a large beer garden. The food was absolutely great, served quickly and hot. Staff was very friendly and nice. Everything was very clean and tidy, even the toilets ?. Self-service is popular for the beer garden. But here too, progress was relatively quick. The prices are absolutely okay. So, absolutely recommendable.
No, it won't work that way. I agree with the majority of the writers as to whether Corona damage should be recovered here, I do not want to claim. But the quality of the food is reminiscent of a kiosk with prices that are incompatible. No visit recommendation.
Tastes good but considering the self-service the prices are not acceptable. Therefor a star deduction. There is another star deduction for cleanliness. There is still some catching up to do.
The price-performance ratio was unfortunately not right. We ate game goulash for EUR 16.90. For the fact that it was canteen food and self-service, it is not justified in our opinion. Our table had been stained by the guests before. Conclusion: the dishes are average but too expensive. Visiting Königstein Fortress is definitely worth it. Really impressive.
The serving of food from an ignorant man who is very rude. Also found hair in the food but the two ladies at the cash desk and drinks counter were very friendly and helpful.
The cake comes highly recommended. We were full of the rest of the dishes, good home-style cooking, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not good. Self-condition which easily gives the impression of a canteen. Two drinks, two dishes and a piece of cake, you can quickly get to 40 €.
we had coffee, cocoa and cake there and everything tasted really good! But we deduct one star for the price / performance ratio. Even if you pay a little bit of the "great space bonus" it is extremely expensive.
Unfortunately, I don't think the quality of the food is that good. There were three of us here and no one liked it. Price performance is not justified. So I wouldn't eat here again. But what was very nice was the view from the panorama room ...
The food tastes really bad ... Muddy, cold "fried potatoes" with three lettuce leaves (+ a slice of tomato) cooked mixed vegetables (lukewarm) and a pork schnitzel (definitely delicious when warm). You really don't have to have ....
So when I look at the reviews in the process I wonder if the bad reviews are really appropriate. We were at Königstein Fortress on September 23rd and met here for lunch. Very friendly staff, the food we brought with us for our 5 month old daughter was warmed up without any problems, which is not the rule everywhere. The food was very good and its price for three people at € 36 perfectly justified. Top 100% and recommended.
Well what can you say ....... absolutely lousy food is being sold here for horrendous prices. The food counter was totally slow. The interior and the beer garden are nicely designed, but that is probably a requirement if you run a gastronomic business on the fortress. The fact is that the location on the fortress is being exploited here and poor services are being sold for insanely high prices. Dear folks, just go a few meters further to the Musketeer, it's not cheap but delicious!
Bad food for a lot of money! The officers' casino is a self-service restaurant / rather a canteen, with seating inside and outside in the beer garden. Well what can you say, if you want to buy food that is way too overpriced, bad / ready-made, which doesn't taste good at all and the portions are way too small to be full, you can waste your money here. I had a potato soup for 8.50 €, which was totally gray, and the gentleman put exactly 1 ladle (!) In the plate! (I was certainly not full afterwards) ... The same thing with my companions, eat expensive but not through or just slack in taste. The pasta looked totally dry and the sauce looked like it was out of the can. The price for it too expensive again. Then to the staff: completely overwhelmed with a few people waiting, hardly kept up, or works much too slowly. You stand forever because of it. The only positive: the beer garden is nice! ? Actually really sad ... that something like that can continue to exist at the fortress and the people there the money is pulled out of their pockets!
Unfortunately, we can only agree with the negative reviews. The food is really bad and totally overpriced. The two of us paid 42, - € for 1x Klops, 1x beef roulade and two barrel sprinklers (so 84, - DM !!! ... :-( I know, we don't calculate any more) .... that was for them The quality of the food was really heavy and absolutely not justified, especially since it is a self-service restaurant. As already described by a guest ... from the dumplings to the vegetables ... only finished products. There is then one star for the really beautiful beer garden.
So I had a tough roulade with lots of onions with a beer for over 20 euros. I am ready to pay more. But then I would also like to have quality.
Unfortunately you have to give a star, the ambience is great, the rest is weak, the star goes to the poor employees, but the food is an absolute cheek, the beer tastes like water, the iced coffee looks like it is from the supermarket and the cake is definitely not homemade. Just weak and a bad picture for the fortress
€ 5.50 for the worst piece of cake I've eaten in a long time. Was about to close, but that's not an excuse. Only the name of the location is appealing.
The two stars are for the really nice beer garden and the extremely nice staff. However, the food is simply too expensive, mini schnitzel with a portion of fried potatoes for over € 15 in the size of a children's portion is extremely outrageous, unfortunately the taste was not at all good. It's really a shame, then I'd rather have a piece of cake in the fortress bakery.
The gullasch we had here was very good, and the blueberry cheesecake was delicious as well.
The beer garden made a great impression and invited us to linger. But then the nasty surprise, unmotivated and listless staff and then the crowning glory, completely overpriced prices for extremely bad dishes. Never again this restaurant !!!!! What a pity! With a little more commitment and love, it could be a great experience!
The homemade cake from the "fortress oven" is highly recommended and at 3.50 for a really large piece (we ate two of them) relatively cheap. Beer for 4.70 and main courses for 15 euros are rather expensive but not surprising for a restaurant on the fortress. Ambience in the backyard of the old barracks is appealing and the service is very friendly.
A restaurant in the heart of the Königstein Fortress The prices speak for themselves. Not for the small budget or family with more than one child. Self service included in the prices !! But clean toilets. To feel different in summer. We didn't eat there.
Cafeteria style place. Food is good. Prices are very high.
